This Month's Answer

If you use the View feature in Outlook 2003 to logically group your messages, you can add two buttons to the toolbar that will expand and collapse the groups as follows:

  1. View, Toolbars, Customize from the menu
  2. Click on the Commands tab
  3. From the Categories list click on View
  4. From the Commands list scroll until you see COLLAPSE ALL GROUPS and EXPAND ALL GROUPS (see screen shot) << OLE Object: Picture (Metafile) >>
  5. Drag COLLAPSE ALL GROUPS somewhere on one of your existing Outlook toolbar
  6. Drag EXPAND ALL GROUPS somewhere on one of your existing Outlook toolbar
  7. Click Close to close the Customize dialog box.
