Re-evaluating the Role of Technology in a Law Firm

From a simple word processor, to a cost of doing business, to mission-critical; some would argue where technology falls on that spectrum, but it is changing.  Part technology-driven, part client-driven, technology is becoming a critical component of the legal landscape.  Where once faxes dominated the landscape, e-mail and its ubiquitous presence anywhere, anytime now dominate client-attorney communication.  Asking an attorney how long they can live without technology and email is like asking how long can you live without your phone.  Read more.

This Month's Answer

Instead of dragging the fill handle (which is the little black crosshair you see in the lower right hand corner of a highlighted cell, double click on the fill handle and it should copy the formula down the range of cells until it hits a blank cell.   For example:

In cell A1:A10 type random numbers
In cell B1:B10 type random numbers
In cell C1 type =a1*b1, then press Enter
Click back on cell C1 so that is the active cell

Now double click on the fill handle and watch the formula copy through C2 to C10.
